What is the GDC?

The dental team at Beech House adhere to the GDC’s Standards for dental professionals.

John Kettle

Is the partner of the practice, qualified at Guys Dental School in 1982 and joined the practice in 1988. When Mr Kettle is not mentoring for the VDP, he does home visits for patients who are unable to come into the practice.

Neil Sands

Neil is one of the partners of Beech House. He graduated from the University of Bristol in 2004 and completed his foundation year in Cumbria, before working in private general practice. He has completed a 3 year long Masters of Science in Endodontics (root canal treatments) at Kings College London, graduating with Distinction. Neil has been using a clinical microscope to help with both Endodontic and Restorative treatment for a number of years.
Neil is a member of the British Society of Endodontists and accepts referrals from local dentists for root canal treatment.

John Matejka

Qualified at the Universtity of the Witwaterrand, Johannesburg in 1985. After completing two years of national service he was awarded a postgraduate research scholarship by the Medical Research Council of South Africa and following a period in dental research and teaching (37+ publications in scientific journals) he returned to full time clinical dentistry. In 2000 he and his family moved to the UK and joined Beech House in 2003.

Priyanka Viswanath

Priyanka qualified at Kings College London in July 2017. She joined the practice in September 2017 and will be working here for a year as she completes her vocational training.

Sophie Buzzard

Sophie qualified at Bristol University and then started work in East Sussex. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow after passing her admission assessments. She has worked in local hospitals as an Oral and Maxillofacial Doctor and also in the Special Care Dental Service. This has provided her with a high level of experience in Oral Surgery. Since graduating Sophie has completed a Master of Science in Primary Dental Care, achieving Distinction. She is also undertaking a Diploma with the Royal College of Surgeons and the Faculty of General Dental Practioners in Dental Implantology. Sophie is now working full time at the Practice and is the main provider of Dental Implant treatment.


Charlotte Johnson

Charlotte qualified in 2017 with a Foundation Degree in Oral Health Science from the University of Essex. Charlotte is currently covering Wioleta's maternity leave. In September 2018 she will be be working on a Thursday at the Practice.

Wioleta Szostak

Wioleta qualified as a hygienist in Poland in 2005 and joined the practice in 2009. She is very enthusiastic when it comes to patient’s oral health and encourages patients with all aspects of dental hygiene. Wioleta will be on maternity leave from Mid-November until April.

Jo Relf

Jo gained her Certificate in Dental Hygiene in 1985 and has worked at the practice for over fifteen years. Jo has a very calming personality which puts her patient’s at ease.

Dental Nurse

Kaz Nevin

Joined the practice in 1998 and now assists John Matejka. Kaz is our Senior Dental Nurse and Cross Infection Control supervisor. When she is not making sure that everyone in the practice is following the latest ‘best practice’ guidelines in relation to cross infection, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and getting away in her campervan!

Lesley Harwood

After qualifying as a dental nurse in 1978 Lesley worked in London at Guys and Kings College Hospitals as well as working with disabled children for Lambeth and Lewisham Area health Authority. She joined Beech House in 1998 assisting the recently retired John Maloney. Lesley is now enjoying working on the reception desk. When not at Beech House she can often be found enjoying her hobby of belly dancing!

Deirdre Bainbridge

Deirdre worked alongside an Endodontist in America before Joining Beech House in 2005.Deirdre enjoys working with Neil Sands and Priyanka and when not in the surgery she is in charge of the stock throughout the practice.

Jo Perrot

For many years, Jo helped us on a regular basis as a locum nurse and joined us on a permanent basis in 2013. She is very adaptable and assists both John Kettle and Neil Sands in the surgery. Her calm approach to her work ensures that her patients are always at ease in the surgery. When away from the practice Jo loves travelling all around Britain, searching ‘follies’ wherever she goes!

Jasmine Hughes

Jasmine joined the practice in 2014 and gained a National Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2016. She recently completed an Access to Higher Education course in Healthcare and is working towards a Certificate in Oral Health Education. Jasmine assists Mr Kettle and Mr Sands.

Krystina Tichbon

Krystina is our newest member of the team who is working as both as a dental nurse and on reception. Krystina is one of our qualified first aiders who is ready to attend to a medical emergency when not working with Priyanka. When on reception Krystina will greet you with her welcoming smile.

Zoe Gibson

Zoe joined the practice in 2015 and in 2016 qualified with a Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing. Zoe assists Sophie Buzzard and always has a smile and friendly welcome for her patients. Zoe enjoys all different treatments that dentistry has to offer.

Practice Manager & Receptionists

Rebecca Nicholas

Rebecca joined the practice in 2010 originally as a qualified dental nurse and decided after 10 years of nursing to move to the administrative side of dentistry. After taking exams in Leadership and Management Rebecca became Practice Manager at Beech House. Rebecca enjoys the challenge of organising a large team

Jo Hammett

Jo Joined the Reception Team in 2009 after a long career in the banking industry. She has enjoyed her time with us, and loves giving her personal attention to all the patients during their visit to the practice. She enjoys spending quality time with her young grandchildren when not working in the practice

Jessica Hare

Jessica joined the practice in 2005 where she qualified in 2007 gaining an NVQ in Oral Health Care. Jessica is the assistant manager and is enjoying her new role. She still helps out with nursing when needed. She has two young children who keep her busy when not working hard at Beech House.
